February 24th, 2009 | By patti-kgmi in Show Topics | 2 Comments »Do you think this is really about not having any building or growth? Do you agree with the plan?
Email ang blog
February 21st, 2009 | By patti-kgmi in My Personal Commentary | 3 Comments »Due to the large number of emails that I am receiving at KGMI, I am asking if you could post them as comments to my blog if they pertain to a show topic. I try to answer each and every email that I receive. However, the number has grown so much in the past few months; it is becoming much more difficult to keep up with. I care and appreciate each and every person that takes the time to write to me. Believe me, I do get the negative as well as the positive; but I want listeners to know that I care. So, if it is a topic from the show you want to email me about; I will now try to post a blog as soon as the show ends. We can keep the discussing going and get the great points out there that so many of you have.
Again, I just want to say that I am so appreciative to the people of Whatcom, Skagit, Island Counties and beyond. The encouraging words, support and cheering; help me be able to do what I do each and every single day. This has never been and never will be about me. I am just trying to be a voice of reason in a country united…that is continuing to be pulled apart by the agitators!
Todays Show…need I say more.
February 20th, 2009 | By patti-kgmi in Show Topics | 12 Comments »If you listened to the show today, I would love to hear your opinion and feedback. I am specifically talking about the woman (Mathada) that called to tell me that I am on my “high and mighty horse” and that I deny what happened to slaves in this country. If you didn’t hear the show, I suggest you go back and listen; then give me your feedback. I received a large number of calls at the station and to my cell phone in support of how I handled myself as a talk show host.
I have NEVER, I repeat NEVER put down a black person in my entire life. I have no tolerance for racism of any type…color or faith. Yet, this woman said it with truth and honesty “the only peoples history you seem to care about is the Jews history” and “still have not gotten paid for”. She was referring to the history of slavery for over 400 years and the ‘free slave labor that built this country”. I am just guessing and maybe assuming that she is a woman of black color since she also use the “n-word” on air as well. So, let me ask; are they owed something? Do you take fault or responsibility for something someone else did before you walked the face of the earth? If so, then when are you going to payback my ancestors that were Irish (remember the famine), or how about every German decsendant…should they pay back every single Jewish and Christian person for happened to their family and ancestors in the Holocaust?
This woman is one of those that go through life with a big chip. The only problem is Mathada’s chip is not on her shoulder…it’s in the middle of her chest!
What do you think of this cartoon and is it about Obama?

February 18th, 2009 | By patti-kgmi in Show Topics | 3 Comments »The link below is for the actual Bill 5104. Once you open this, click on the Bill Digest for the ‘Reader’s Digest’ version. Then click open the Original Bill to read everything including the income tables. It is 52 pages!
We can’t say we didn’t know. Gregoire did tell The Spokesman Review she would look at it. If you are not happy, call your legislators and tell them what you think.
The number is (800) 562-6000.

Changing my ways and changing my clothes
February 17th, 2009 | By patti-kgmi in Fit Club | 1 Comment »I have been working out now for eight weeks and I can honestly say, I have never felt this good in my whole life. I have more energy than I did when I was 20! For me, it has never been about losing weight (my BMI was fine); it was about being fit for life! I know men and women that may look like the picture of health because they are not “overweight”. However, it can be deceptive as to what is going on in the inside. I have dedicated myself to the Get Fit Program. I am exercising, strength training (with Jason and Krista from Fitness Gear and training), working on my “core”, eating right and taking time to rest and rejuvinate. It is not just about the exercise. I am a believer in the whole health approach. I don’t believe I would be where I am today without all four components.
I have been getting some adjustments with Brad (Chiropractor Health Care Clinic), now I am sleeping like a baby. I was given just a few simple exercising to strengthen my core and stretch my shoulders…suddenly the pain has gone away. I used to be a skeptic of the whole chiropractic idea. I thought everyone was snap, crackle amd pop. It is actually relaxing, painless and the results are almost instant.
Jessica (Inner Wisdom Bodywork) has given me sports massages that not only relax, but get the blood going to my muscles to help with recovery. I have had a number of abdominal surgeries over the past decade and I have some very serious scar tissue. (Something there isn o known cure for.) Jessica has been working the area and I can actually feel my stomach softening…I feel very lucky to have found her. I have done research for years looking for something to give me relief and this is the first real results I have had!
I have hit a plateau here and there with inches, but my trainers change up my workouts and Carrie (Want More Health) gives me tips and reminders how to stay on track to reach my goals.
I don’t want to sound too cliche: but I truly wish that more people would take this proactive and preventative action with their own health!
College for illegal aliens…that’s Washington state for you!
February 17th, 2009 | By patti-kgmi in Show Topics | No Comments »We talked on the show about illegal aliens, the cost to the US taxpayers. I have a link that is a must reads! The actual house bill t(HB 1706) that will pay for the students “domiciled” here in Washington. Notice, there has been an evolution to stimulate the minds of the people. First they were illegals, then they were referred to as undocumented citizens and now they are domiciled.

How do you feel about this?
Ethanol & going green
February 17th, 2009 | By patti-kgmi in Show Topics | 3 Comments »Today on the show we talked about the high cost of ethanol. Not only is is costly to make it; but the cost of the impact to our environment is huge. Since many companies stopped putting money into these “green fuels” a long time ago why is the government still pushing it? Are they just after more of your green? Is this whole green economy truly a false economy?
Chiropractic…part of a health plan?
February 4th, 2009 | By patti-kgmi in Fit Club | No Comments »You bet! I can honestly say that I have been one of those “skeptics”; not just about chiropractic health but fitness in general. I am now a full fledged covert and loving it. The more I learn, the more it feeds a need to attain more knowledge. Brad Smith from Chiropratic Health Care is working with Danielle and myself to get our bodies back in shape. Not from the outside but from the inside. Brad talked on our Saturday show this week about what core means. “Core” is a hot phrase right now but there are many variables to that word depending on the person that he or his wife Dana (also a chiropractor at their clinic) may be working with. What a pregnant woman and say an athlete that is training for a marathon may need can be very different. Therefore, each person that they work with has a very different timetable, exercises and goals that are planned just for their needs!
How often do we really think about our skeleton? No very often I imagine but our skeleton supports our nervous system and ithat s what keeps us feeling good inside. many times when we begin a workout plan or start a new exercise regimine we don’t feel good. That is NOT how we should feel. Brad explained that we should be “hitting on all cylinders and feeling good during and after a workout”. If we don’t feel rejuvinated; that is a very good indicator that our muscles are compensating because out body is not in alignment. Our skin may be the largest organ but our skeleton is what keeps us going forward on the road to better health!
A personal note: I just love the fact that the clinic is an open bed style. You are adjusted right there in a large open area with other tables (and patients). It really has a neighborhood/family feel to it.
