Boeing Picks South Carolina Over Everett

October 29th, 2009 | By patti-kgmi in Uncategorized | 4 Comments »

With the decision on Wednesday to build a second assembly line in South Carolina, do you agree with Boeing’s decision?  Why?  I believe the writing has been on the wall for a number of years.  First, the corporate office moved to Chicago, followed by a number of strikes.  Boeing had to go where it was the most favorable conditions to make a profit and to move forward as a company.

Snopes

October 17th, 2009 | By patti-kgmi in Uncategorized | 7 Comments »

Many people now go to snopes ans their trusted source for ‘True or False’ validation of stories.

The following is taken right from snope.som:

  • Many legends present events that may have taken place in real life only a few times (or once, or even never) as if they were frequent and regular occurrences, and we make a distinction between “This once happened” and “This is a common, on-going occurrence.” For example, many warnings circulated by e-mail caution readers to be wary of some form of crime or other hazard that is claimed to be a widespread occurrence but actually has taken place only in a few unrelated, isolated cases, possibly in the distant past. Therefore, even though the event described may be “true” in the strictly literal sense that it is known to have occurred at least once, the underlying claim (i.e., that the event is a regular, widespread phenomenon) is not true.
  • snopes.com will tell you it is False - even when the event took place.

Remember, the devil is always in the details.

    American Flag Ban Lifted

    October 15th, 2009 | By patti-kgmi in Uncategorized | 8 Comments »

Yesterday, we talked about the apartment complex in Albany, Oregon; where there had been a ban placed on all flags there were being flown as well as those on tenants vehicles.  This ban included sports teams and Old Glory herself…the Stars and Stripes.

    This just in…

The ban has been rescinded!!!  That’s one win for the proud Americas and loss for the tyrants.

    Is the American flag controversial?

    October 14th, 2009 | By patti-kgmi in Uncategorized | 3 Comments »

Residents of an apartment complex in Albany, Oregon have been ordered to remove all flags including those on personal vehicles or face eviction.  The complex states that we live in a diverse community and the flags could be seen as offensive to some. Any thoughts?
