FTA ‘can the story be told without pictures?’ that is the ultimate test of a good news reporter, but if on the other hand, you are considered a journalist - that term, by its very definition, allows for more latitude where accessory background can be included; in that case, tastefully presented relevant photos may well enhance the article. In these days of cameraphones, privacy is all too readily invaded - in some cases these are helpful as far as crime, others not. Modern technology has brought many ethical considerations with it.
